Me
Welcome to to my website. It’s my website and you’re welcome to it.
Right-ho, addressing myself in the third person:
Marc Cooper is a journalist based in the UK. Working for the Local People websites, Marc is based in Bristol, which is in the west of the country. Marc trained at the London College of Printing which is now called University of the Arts.
Currently
Managing hyperlocal community websites called Local People in the South West of the UK.
Column-writing in Bristol Evening Post about tech, gadgets, web and other stuff. Here’s one I wrote about the iPad, another about Twitter users, this one about Google Wave, another about gadgets, and one about what I caught myself doing one evening. How can you resist?
Going along to Brrism, a group of geeks and social media types who meet once a month in Bristol. If you’re into all that stuff, and you’re local, give it a whirl.
Playing around with blogging tools such as Posterous, Xanga, Tumblr, Plurk.
Listening to audio books from Audible.co.uk – right now I have Catch-22, and a collection of PG Wodehouse funnies, on the go. I love this stuff.
Recently
Web editor at This is Bristol, the website for daily newspaper the Evening Post.
Podcasting on Talk Bristol, a weekly chat about news and sport, not really about Bristol at all, it just happens to be recorded there.
Blowing my own trumpet after Press Gazette ran a story about how ThisIsBristol was one of UK’s fastest growing regional news websites.
